"If you do a typical MBA, you'll never be a successful entrepreneur"

This article in rediff.com by Mahesh Murthy, Founder and CEO, Pinstorm.... is related to my viewpoints expressed in one of my previous posts titled "Entrepreneurship..". A nice read....

sorry, but i have never been able to see through this and such dialogues...
"success is different from education"
"success asks for street smartness, rather than degree"

how many, if we do a survey
will be in the category of success
without formal education - handful am sure;
education/degree does make a difference, atleast in provoking minds provided the education is not cliched and biased.

as for murthy, i doubt if he made it through his dream institute for an mba - lol

this confuses me as its coming from a mba student.
whatz the reason you are enrolled for MBA then?? if we could get all the skills without the degree, why would one go for an mba??

Well..I have not once mentioned that MBA doesnt imbibe any skills... I was specifically talking only about ENTR here, in case of entrepreneurship it gives u all the tools but the way u use them is what is more important. Practicality is more essential here, is what my perception is. Views differ from one individual to the other.

Your point is taken abt ENTR.
the article led me to generalize it to MBA, sure tht was not your view.

enterpreneurship is, getting that great idea and putting it to form. To get the right idea, u need to have expertise in the domain, to understand the gaps for the product.
with mba, you are not a domain person anymore, just a management person.

MBA people can enhance, structure and organize a co., but cannot find provide the seed idea for an co.
